Abstract

Relevance. The Volgograd Trans-Volga region is considered one of the zones of risky agriculture. The presence of frequent dust storms, prolonged absence of productive precipitation and high air temperature often lead to low yields or crop loss of melons, which are almost impossible to grow in this area without well-established technological elements, such as foliar treatment of plants during the growing season.

Methodology. These studies were conducted on the territory of the Bykovsky Melon Breeding Experimental Station, a branch of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, located in the Bykovsky district of the Volgograd Region. The objects of research were: medium-ripened melon Cassandra, water-soluble fertilizers (Aquarin vegetable, Novalon Foliar, Hakafos). All water-soluble fertilizers were applied to vegetating plants in the phases: "the beginning of lash formation" + 10 days ("before the closure of the lashes").

Results. The use of water-soluble fertilizers for the treatment of plants during the growing season, as studies have shown, is a promising technique for growing melons. The working solution rate is 300 l/ha. The best result was obtained using the water-soluble fertilizer Hakafos(0.9).
