Sergey Fedorovich Gavrish a head of Research Institute of Protected Vegetable Cultivation celebrates his 60th birthday

Abstract

On 1 November a leading scientists of Russia in vegetable plant breeding and seed production, a head of Research Institute of Protected Vegetable Cultivation, professor, principal scientist in plant breeding Sergey Fedorovich Gavrish marks his 60th birthday. His scientific achievements are the theoretical principals in new plant introduction, plant adaptation abilities, crop breeding and seed production. By virtue of his research work the current breeding methods have been improved and the ranges of new vegetable plants have been enlarged in Russia. His attainments and research work are widely known in Russia and other countries, and serve as practical and theoretical sources in vegetable crop breeding.
