Abstract

On 12th September, 2010 the 110th anniversary of Alexander Vasilevich Alpatiev's birthday, him who is an academician of VASKhNIL, Doctor in biological science, professor, Honored Scientist of RSFSR, Laureate of State Award has been wide known among scientific societies in Russia and many other countries. Such fame came to him owing to his inspiring hard-working, scientific professionalism and expertise in searching mysterious mechanisms that are responsible for economically valuable traits transferring into hybrid forms from the parental plants.
