В результате изучения коллекционных форм и гибридного потомства вигны овощной выявлены разные морфотипы и хозяйственно ценные
формы с зеленой, красно-пурпурной и краснозеленой окраской плода, пригодные для дальнейшего изучения и создания продуктивных сортов. 
При изучении наследования окраски плода вигны выявлен доминантный характер наследования пигментации в F1 и
